Brief Biographical Sketch:

Hello to anyone who's interested! I'm a freshman at BC currently studying political science and economics, and I love to talk about politics and current events. I have an avid interest in international relations as well, focusing on areas of the world like Russia, Iran, and China. On campus, I'm an editor for the political science journal and a member of College Democrats. In my spare time, I like to explore Boston or hit around on the tennis courts. I hope to use my education at BC to attend law school and eventually pursue a career in government.

How has the invention of Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and Snapchat changed the way that political ideas are formed and exchanged? Is it true that “our political discourse is shrinking to fit our smartphone screens?” In this course, we’ll take a look at how politicians and constituents use social media, paying special attention to the 2016 election cycle.
