R363: So you want to be President? in Splash Fall 2011 (Nov. 13, 2011)
Lyndon B. Johnson once said,“The presidency has made every man who occupied it, no matter how small, bigger than he was; and no matter how big, not big enough for its demands.” Do you think you are up to the challenge? We'll take a look at those Americans who have been elected President. Our goal: to look at what makes some great and others failures. We'll also take a look at the upcoming 2012 Presidential Election. If you have any interest in politics, this course is for you!


R170: Presidential Rankings - Do they matter? in Splash Spring 2011 (Mar. 27, 2011)
Is it possible to rank Presidents? What makes a good President? This course will take a look at recent rankings of US Presidents by historians. We will consider changes in presidential popularity over time as well as analyze those presidents that are consistently rated as the best of the best. We will conclude by discussing the George W. Bush Presidency and whether it is fair to rank the 43rd President at this time.
