Brief Biographical Sketch:

My name is Kate Lewis, and I am a freshman in the College of Arts and Sciences at BC hoping to study English and secondary education. This is my first year teaching at BC SPLASH and I couldn't be more thrilled! I hail from Newton, Massachusetts (a cool four miles from Chestnut Hill) and am a recent graduate of Newton North High School. I love the English language--writing it, reading it, performing it--and I love sharing this joy with others. Can't wait to get to know you all at SPLASH 2011!

R273: Quick! Write Something! in Splash Fall 2011 (Nov. 13, 2011)
For the first 30 minutes of class, students will have time to work on creative writing projects: poems, short stories, scenes or whatever they feel inspired to write. For the second half of class, we will share what we have written with the class and offer constructive criticism to each other. Whether you are an experienced writer or new to the craft of creative writing, you are welcome to join us and hone your writing skills! Bring your own writing instruments (pen/paper or computer if you have one) and your muse.


A274: Nail Your Next Audition: A Monologue Workshop in Splash Fall 2011 (Nov. 13, 2011)
Auditions: the word itself can strike fear even into the heart of the most well-trained thespian. Come shake off the nerves, perform your piece and share feedback in a small-group setting. Even if you don't have an audition coming up, it can't hurt to practice performing in front of others. Actors and actresses of all experience levels are welcome to join!
