Splash Biography

Every child dreamt of epic river adventures rivaling Huck and Jim’s days along the Mississippi, but if you took it to another level then this is the class for you! Finally get those lifelong questions answered (we know they’ve been bugging you): What determines the shape and patterns of rivers? How and why do they change location, sometimes slowly meandering and other times suddenly avulsing? What does that even mean? In search of these answers we revisit our childhoods in the form of a 2 meter sandbox (ok, an experimental stream box) where we test river building predictions through what we like to term “Sandbox Science.”
