Do you want to try a fun engineering experiment? Spend some time constructing a structure to protect a falling egg! This will be a simple and fun class where you'll use teamwork and creativity to solve a problem. At the end, we'll test our structures and drop the eggs!

Have you ever wondered about the DNA code inside your cells? Would you like to learn more about how we understand the human genome and genomic medicine? This class will be a primer into the human genome and modern genetics.


S1785: Exploring all 2 METERS of your DNA: An Introduction to Genetics and Genomics in Splash Fall 2018 (Nov. 04, 2018)
We will cover the basics of molecular genetics. If time allows, we will also move into a discussion of sequencing and the Human Genome Project. In the second half of the class, we will isolate DNA from fruit that you will be able to take home!

This class will debunk some of the major myths surrounding environmental science. We will discuss issues such as the garbage island, the ozone layer, population control, the scientific debate over climate change, and the difference between weather and climate. Join us to get a better understanding of modern environmental science!


X1410: The Companions Behind The Doctor in Splash Fall 2015 (Nov. 15, 2015)
Who are you in Doctor Who? Did you know that Doctor Who is the longest running television series in history? This class will explore the social implications of the Doctor's companions. Our main focus will be on the relationships between the companions and the Doctor as well as the message each companion's personality says about real life relationships. The class will have video clips and presentation, but we hope to also engage anyone attending in a fantastic dialogue. Stop on by and let your inner geek out!
