R599: Why You Should Be An English Major in Splash Spring 2012 (Apr. 01, 2012)
So your parents told you an English degree is worthless? Your friend said there's no need to study literature in today's world? Your dog thinks it's a waste of time because he's secretly jealous that he can't read books? Not so fast! Based upon my personal experience as an English major, this course will explain and argue for the benefits of studying literature in college, and why it might not be such a bad route to consider after all.

R392: This Changes History: Rereading the Bible, Machiavelli, and Nietzsche in Splash Fall 2011 (Nov. 13, 2011)
What did Eve know in the Garden of Eden? Was Machiavelli serious about obtaining power by brute force? Did Nietzsche really want God to be dead? This class will explain the importance of three topics that shaped the Western tradition and provide an overview of alternative ways to interpret them. Previous experience reading the Bible, Machiavelli, and/or Nietzsche is not required!

A183: Who Is Arcade Fire? - How College Radio, Blogs and Social Media Have Changed the Music Industry in Splash Spring 2011 (Mar. 27, 2011)
After the Canadian band Arcade Fire won a Grammy for Best Album, many viewers responded to the award with confusion: How could they beat out Katy Perry and Eminem? Who is Arcade Fire? This course will not only directly answer that question, but explain how the evolution of college radio, blogs, and social media have changed the music industry over the last decade.
