Brief Biographical Sketch:

Hi, I'm Daniel Strickland. I'm a freshman at BC, involved in comedy (Asinine), theatre, and our radio station (WZBC 90.3 FM), I've been writing stuff for as long as I can remember, making games in my head or spinning stories.

How do you teach people something that doesn't exist? We're going to look at how some fantasy writers approach the concept of "teaching magic", including Harry Potter, Avatar: The Last Airbender, The Witcher, and more.

Everybody's favorite game of suave detectives and criminal masterminds. We'll learn about some of the conventions of historical, the Golden Age of Detective Fiction, and modern mystery-writing. We'll also learn about the "10 Commandments of Detective Fiction" and why nobody follows them.
