X726: Barely Running: The Nature of Barefoot Running in Splash Fall 2012 (Nov. 04, 2012)
Have you ever wondered what all of the hype is about barefoot running? In the course, we will go through the history of barefoot running and explore the science behind it. We will also discuss the recent revolution to lose those clunky shoes that was inspired by the novel Born to Run. With all of our knowledge, we will then put it to practice and record our barefoot stride with a slo-mo camera on Alumni Field!


X423: Barely Running: The Nature of Barefoot Running in Splash Spring 2012 (Apr. 01, 2012)
Come learn about the minimalist movement! We will explore the mechanics of the foot and the "natural" stride of the human being. We will discuss the benefits from losing those clunky shoes and going barefoot. Then, with the help of a slow-mo camera, we will be able to capture the steps of every student as they stride out.
