R972: Secretly Shakespeare: Contemporary Movies Based Off Shakespeare's Plays in Splash Fall 2013 (Nov. 17, 2013)
Think you don't like Shakespeare? Think again! Many of our favorite movies are based off of Shakespeare plays and show these similarities through themes, plot lines, and character names. In this class, we'll study the parallels between Hamlet and The Lion King, The Twelfth Night and She's the Man, and The Taming of the Shrew and 10 Things I Hate About You. We'll look at excerpts from the texts, watch movie clips, and have some great conversations!
