Brief Biographical Sketch:

I'm currently in my final year at BC. I major in Physics, minor in Scientific Computing, and am also enrolled in the Honors Program, a 3-year sequence of philosophy seminars covering the Western Cultural Tradition. When not physicsing, computing scientifically, or philosophizing, I lead outdoor trips and perform with multiple instrumental ensembles.

S1137: Understanding Quantum Mechanics in Splash Fall 2014 (Nov. 16, 2014)
Curious about Quantum Mechanics? This class will cover concepts such as the uncertainty principle, tunneling, the particle-wave duality, and the Schrodinger's Cat Paradox. Everything will be discussed at the conceptual level without getting into the math behind it all.

S1022: Understanding Quantum Mechanics in Splash Spring 2014 (Apr. 06, 2014)

R1023: Reconciling Faith and Science in Splash Spring 2014 (Apr. 06, 2014)
Did you know that in addition to laying the groundwork of the field of Physics, Isaac Newton was also a theologian? In our modern era, however. the idea of such a religious scientist seems like an impossibility. This student-led discussion, guided by the instructor, will address the question of whether it is still possible for people to believe in both God and Science. The main focus will be the debate between the Judeo-Christian tradition and the sciences, but other religious viewpoints are more than welcome.
