C642: Too Cool for School - Learning to Break the Ice for College in Splash Fall 2012 (Nov. 04, 2012)
When freshman year of college rolls around, it's easy to focus on the negatives; I'm in a new place, I'm far from home, I'm surrounded by new people and don't have my old friends by my side. The bright side of this, however, is that everybody's in the same boat. While it is easy to remain in your shell during your first year of college, this class is all about how to break out, how to take full advantage of college and make your experience the best it can be.

X263: The Real Jersey Shore - Learning about Stereotypes through Pop Culture in Splash Fall 2011 (Nov. 13, 2011)
Do you meet kids from New Jersey and crack a joke about Snooki, or do you just look at them with pity in your eyes? Have you ever wondered what life is really like on the Jersey Shore? This class is designed to not only to show the reality of the Jersey Shore, but to open students' eyes to the realities of stereotypes in general. Students will see how easily skewed our perceptions of people and places can be, especially when based solely on what we see in the media, on television, and in books.
