R894: Tale as Old as Time: Gender and Race in Disney Films in Splash Spring 2013 (Apr. 07, 2013)
We will be examining the biases projected by your favorite Disney classics. We will look at how these projections influence our current perceptions of gender and race in our society, and whether or not these subliminal messages have in fact shaped and molded the minds of children who watch these films.


X749: Urbanopoly: Understanding Racism, Poverty, and Class Inequality in Splash Fall 2012 (Nov. 04, 2012)
Students will play a real life Monopoly game to learn about poverty, racism and class inequality, as well as engage in discussion on these topics.
